2026 Election Information

2026 General Election

It is important that you practice your civic duty and vote in the mid-term elections! Mark your calendars, because Tuesday, November 3, 2026, is general election day!

Michigan has early voting, meaning that your polling location will be open for in-person voting leading up to the general election day. Check with your clerk’s office for early voting hours.

You can find your polling location here.

You can also view your sample ballot in advance of voting.

Registering to Vote

Make sure you are registered to vote for the 2026 election! You can register online, by mail, or in person at your clerk’s office or at a Secretary of State branch.

Not sure if you are already registered? Check here

If you are registering to vote within 14 days of the November 3 election, it must be done in person at your local clerk’s office by 8 p.m. on November 3. The last day to register online or by mail is October 19, 2026. You must provide proof of your residency such as a Michigan driver’s license, State ID card, utility bill, bank statement, paycheck or other government document.

Poll Workers

Election workers play a vital role in our democracy and are needed now more than ever. Poll workers are trained to assist clerks operating the polls during voting hours and counting ballots. Want to be a Democracy MVP? Sign up to be a poll worker!

You can find information about becoming a paid election worker by visiting the Secretary of State’s Democracy MVP page.
