Child Advocacy of Gratiot County to receive $2,500 grant to expand prevention education
Child Advocacy of Gratiot County will receive a $2,500 grant from the Michigan Association of Health Plans (MAHP) to expand child abuse prevention education throughout Gratiot County schools.
“This grant will advance our mission to promote, support, and strengthen the well-being of our community. We are pleased that MAHP and its member health plans have recognized the positive health impacts resulting from the prevention and intervention strategies deployed by our agency in proactively addressing child abuse and neglect,” said Jennifer Stambaugh, President & CEO of Child Advocacy of Gratiot County.
Earlier this year, MAHP awarded a similar grant to Isabella County Child Advocacy Center. “Our nine health plan members are very encouraged with the work that local community-based child advocacy organizations are taking to improve health outcomes,” said Dominick Pallone, MAHP’s executive director. “Child Advocacy of Gratiot County is dedicated to furthering local supports and services to improve the health and safety of children.”
The Michigan Association of Health Plans is making $2,500 available through its Tackling Health Care Disparities grant program. This program encourages community-based organizations to collaborate and implement local initiatives to improve health outcomes and advance health equity.
The values and vision of Child Advocacy of Gratiot County align with the outcomes MAHP and their member health plans have for improving the health of our local community,” said State Representative Jerry Neyer.
“This is a perfect example of a collaborative approach to proactively addressing health care needs in our community. I applaud both MAHP and the fine work of Child Advocacy of Gratiot County,” stated State Senator Roger Hauck.
Representatives from MAHP will present their $2,500 grant (515 N. State Street, Alma, MI 48801) on Friday, September 4th, at 11:00 A.M. Representative Jerry Neyer will also attend.
