MAHP’s Comments on President Trump’s Prescription Drug Executive Order

LANSING, Mich. – Today, Dominick Pallone, Executive Director of the Michigan Association of Health Plans (MAHP), commented following President Trump’s press conference announcing a new Executive Order lowering prescription drug costs in America.

“The sleepy days of unregulated and unchecked prescription drug pricing in America that have harmed consumers and job providers just received a wake-up call from the President of the United States,” stated Dominick Pallone, executive director of the Michigan Association of Health Plans. “The time has come to sound the alarm on why other countries are getting sweetheart deals on prescription drugs subsidized on the backs of hard-working American employers and people! Our members support empowering the US Department of Health & Human Services to set price-setting goals over the next 30 days. We also support efforts to utilize a most-favored-nation pricing model for pharmaceuticals that benefits all payers.”
