Michigan Health Information Network Shared Services Announces Virtual Event Series for 2021

The Michigan Health Information Network Shared Services (MiHIN),  a public and private nonprofit collaboration dedicated to supporting the statewide exchange of health information, announced a re-envisioned virtual event series for 2021.

The event series, Connecting Michigan for Health and More, spans from March to November and will include five virtual events, including a combination of full-day conferences and half-day workshops, which aim to bring together leaders in healthcare, legal policy, interoperability, and more.

“The health and wellness of our employees, presenters and speakers is our top priority,” said Marty Woodruff, MiHIN Associate Executive Director. “In the midst of this difficult time, I’m thrilled that we’re able to pivot our event series online, allowing peers from the industry to convene and share valuable information about the changing landscape of the health IT and interoperability.”

The virtual event series will explore the new paradigm of Healthcare Technology 3.0 and its implications for the ongoing evolution of healthcare delivery, experience, cost, and outcomes. Topics will include, but are not limited to, social determinants of health, CMS/ONC final rules, eConsent, and virtual care.

Representatives from more than 20 organizations attended past conferences including healthcare and health IT members from Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan, Michigan Department of Health and Humans Services, McLaren Health Plan and many more.

Dates and agenda for the virtual event series are as follows:

March 23 – Introduction to Healthcare Technology 3.0 – Exploring the New Paradigm

April 8 – Social Determinants of Health Workshop

June 24 – Virtual Care (Telehealth & Patient Reported Outcomes) Workshop

October 12 – Sharing Psychiatric ADT and Treatment Center Notifications Workshop

November 9 – Summary of Healthcare Technology 3.0 – Exploring the New Paradigm

The conference will take place on a robust digital platform that makes it easy and exciting for attendees to view sessions, participate in discussions and engage with peers.
