MAHP Response to COVID-19

As the response to the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic continues to rapidly evolve, I feel that it is important to update you as to our office’s position regarding workplace safety and our efforts to continue serving our membership.

While the situation we collectively find ourselves in is fluid and seemingly always changing, in all situations, the safety of our team members is our top priority.  Therefore, we have been following the guidance of federal and state agencies to ensure we limit exposure and encourage containment of COVID-19.  To that end, all MAHP staff has embraced working remotely or will be using flex-hours and our physical office is currently limited on external guests. MAHP staff has been instructed to postpone any non-essential physical meetings and move all other meetings to a virtual setting to the fullest extent possible.

In the days ahead, you will continue to see MAHP staff repurpose existing physical meetings into virtual ones, and we will re-evaluate some of our larger upcoming events as more information becomes available, such as the Legislative Reception and Lobby day currently scheduled for April 28th.  We have made these changes to support our staff as they maintain their health, care for their families, and serve their communities by reducing risk for their neighbors.

I want to assure you that we are still able to honor our commitments to our collective membership, and will remain hyper-focused on advancing our strategic objectives.  We aim to remain accessible to you and MAHP is leveraging all of its information technology infrastructure to facilitate meetings and communicate with stakeholders.

We will continue on our mission to provide leadership for the promotion and advocacy of high quality, accessible health care for the citizens of Michigan.  Today’s evolving circumstances makes this mission even more critical.

If there is anything we can do to support you, please let us know.

Sincerely,

Dominick Pallone, Executive Director
